The aim of the training delivered for the Cheshire UKYP, was so that the young people involved could gain the skills and confidence to prepare and deliver a speech to stand for their local area elections.
-
The young people were from 6 different areas of Cheshire: Chester, Ellesmere Port & Neston, Vale Royal, Macclesfield, Congleton and were all potential candidates to represent either East, Mid or West Cheshire
During the training and before the elections, the young people worked together in these groups and discussed the different issues within the areas and what things can be done to improve the areas that they would represent. A further aim was to get groups working together and look at projects/events they could do together to improve their areas, rather than only working as singular candidates.
Below are some pictures of the process in which the groups went through to help them decide on a campaigning project or event for their area.
