P1070147 This group are preparing a campaign to get a full time disability youth worker. All the group members live in separate areas yet are joined through this issue which they feel needs raising and tackling. Some of the positive issues they recognised were the current youth worker support along with YouthAct! manual which they decided was a useful resource. Opportunity ideas they raised were to involve more young disabled people to widen the campaign, contact the media and influence and change the young peoples plan. However, some of the barriers they faced were transport, access and needs, along with the attitude and commitment of young people. The action the group will take will involve re looking at roles and responsibilities, contacting relevant people, liaising with Salford disability forum, arrange a fundraising event along with funding research.
